Lérida Coffee Estate - SL34 Natural
Grown between 1,500 and 2,000 metres on the slopes of Boquete, this naturally processed SL34 lot from Finca Lérida shows how a Kenyan varietal adapts to Panamanian conditions. The estate, one of the country’s oldest, has been producing coffee for over a century and continues to shape the region’s reputation for quality - most recently earning 4th place in the 2025 Best of Panama competition for its Geisha Natural, which scored 94.88 SCA points.
SL34 was first selected in Kenya in the 1930s at Scott Agricultural Laboratories and, though long thought to descend from Bourbon, genetic studies now link it more closely to Typica. At Finca Lérida, it thrives in volcanic soil and cool, humid mountain conditions. The natural process enhances its sweetness and intensity, resulting in a coffee with fragrances of blueberry, blackberry and muffin, balanced by vivid, process-forward acidity and flavours of cranberry, raspberry and winey depth.
This is a preorder for full boxes only - expected to land in the UK next week (01//12).
