Priory Farm AB

Priory Farm AB

This washed lot comes from Great Rift Coffee in Nandi County, Kenya. Founded in 2019, Great Rift has built a vertically integrated model that covers farming, processing, milling, and export, alongside strong community engagement. Today it cultivates 300 acres of coffee while also working with up to 300 smallholders, offering seedlings, training, and financial support. The company’s commitment extends beyond farming, funding school boreholes and scholarships for local students while promoting sustainable practices such as shade-grown coffee, organic fertilisers, and water conservation.

The coffee itself was handpicked, sorted, and floated before pulping and washing, then carefully dried. After a short pre-drying stage to reduce excess moisture, the parchment spent 10–14 days on raised African beds, turned frequently and shielded from harsh sun or rain to ensure even drying. Once stable, the coffee was milled, graded, and hand-sorted for maximum quality. In the cup it delivers smooth brown sugar sweetness balanced by citrus brightness, with layers of dried fruit and molasses adding depth and a structured, clean finish.
