Natural Andrea Costa

Natural Andrea Costa

Andrea Costa’s coffee comes from Chácara Santo Antônio, a farm rooted in Brazil’s Mogiana region and cared for by the same family for generations. The land, sitting on fertile volcanic soils near Espírito Santo do Pinhal, has been in Andrea’s family since the 1960s and is now managed by her and her brother Luis. Coffee trees grow between 800 and 1,100 masl, where changing microclimates allow each varietal to express itself differently.

Red Catuai is the star of this lot. Cherries are left to ripen slowly before being sun-dried on stone patios for 14 days. Workers turn them hourly with wooden rakes, a simple but vital step that ensures an even, clean natural. Over time, Mogiana’s winters have grown hotter and drier, making this method the perfect fit and giving the coffee its classic Brazilian sweetness.
