Agri Evolve Pulped Anaerobic

This lot comes from Agri Evolve’s pulped anaerobic process in the Rwenzori Mountains. Fresh cherries are pulped and sealed in grain-pro bags with their mucilage for a three-day fermentation, before being dried in a thin layer on raised beds and turned regularly for even airflow. It’s a simple, scalable method that fits the landscape and allows controlled fermentation without the need for tanks or heavy infrastructure.

What makes this coffee distinct is how this process sits within Agri Evolve’s wider work. Founded in 2016, the team began by offering farmers an alternative to the low, cash-in-hand prices that dominated the region. As trust grew, producers started delivering fresh cherries, and the premiums from export were channelled back into training, equipment and improved processing facilities. Today, Agri Evolve work with more than 23,000 registered farmers across the Rwenzoris, supported by their own milling and export operations.
